Outdoor, standing event
I had paid the extra $$ for the VIP area - the cost made it so less ppl were in that area. There was a cpl standing tables near the drink tables. You could sit on the grassy area if you were tired. Yes, the drink tables and bathrooms were just for those in this area-as advertised. I’m not sure how they’d set up chairs with so much grass. It was a Long event. The Bronx and Rancid played, then an extensive waiting time and finally, Dropkick Murphy’s came out and played. My back and legs were tired, but I didn’t sit on the grass. I wish the event had more info-such as telling me I can bring a small blanket to sit on, if I wanted to, since there was enough space (considering the space to ppl ratio of the area) and since there wasn’t any chairs. Again, only BC it was a lengthy timed event. The bands dashed off the stage, and there was a tall metal fence there, it might have been nice if they paused to get a pic with us, from several feet away. With Covid, they would have been fine standing several feet back and letting some ppl get a pic with them. Most band members did not, but I considered the situation and can understand to some extent. A couple of The Bronx members and the drummer from Rancid let a cpl ppl get a pic. Literally, a cpl people. I like to see a minor effort from a band to interact minimally, to show some effort, that they appreciate their fans. A show is a lot of work for a couple hours and we have to consider the prep, setup, tear down, traveling…but that’s the music life. It was an entertaining show, good mix of old and new songs, crowd involvement with some songs-sing along…overall it was a good show. Thanks to the bands, venue workers, and setup and tear down crews.
